I am actively seeking the publication of WHEN THERE WAS LOVE at this time.
WHEN THERE WAS LOVE
An indecisive artist but self-sure family psychotherapist, thirty-something, divorced, becomes increasingly preoccupied with sexual liaisons and his search for love in the twilight before the dawn of AIDS. The first of a triptych of novels, WHEN THERE WAS LOVE, VIOLENCE IN OUR TIME, and LIFE IS ITS OWN REWARD.
VIOLENCE IN OUR TIME
The second of a triptych of novels. The protagonist of WHEN THERE WAS LOVE deals with the suffering, anguish and the profound absurdity arising from the violence of everyday life. Set 20 years after the time of WHEN THERE WAS LOVE, leading up to the fall of the Twin Towers on 9/11.
LIFE IS ITS OWN REWARD
The third of a triptych of novels, closing out the life of Guy Sheridan, protaganist of WHEN THERE WAS LOVE, and VIOLENCE IN OUR TIME. Twenty more years have passed. It’s the present day, beginning the second decade of the 21st century. Thoughts and actions consider the religious experience. All for the honor and glory of God… or not.
UNIVERSAL SERVANT
A short novel, the unintended autobiography of an institutionalized teenage boy. Annotated, with appendices, by Dr. Nikan Dukabolo, M.D., Ph.D. Forward and Afterword by Bernard Rice.
FAN
It’s a new century and Los Angeles is being turned into sludge. (Inspired by the air quality in Mexico City.) A measure of melodrama gives way to outright silliness. (Melodrama is when bad things happen that don’t develop organically out the story’s characters.)
